Friday the 1st of June sees two very different returns to England and English football. The first been the Brazilian President Lula. In his second visit to the UK. The first one in March 2006, when he had an appointment with Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The second return and arguable the more important one, is the amazing re-appearance of ex-England captain David Beckham. Following a disappointing World Cup new England coach Steve McClaren dropped Beckham in favour of youthful alternatives. However, some bad displays and disappointing results have led to an amazing U turn and the recall of Beckham into the England squad.

“We’ve got a very big game in Estonia (Euro qualifier) coming up that we have to win and I’ve got to pick a squad capable of doing that,” England coach Steve McClaren said. “That’s why I’ve picked David.

The Brazil game will be England’s first at the new look Wembley stadium and Dunga is expecting a tough test.

“They don’t only play a high ball into the penalty area,” he said. “The team has improved … They’re tall and strong, but also agile and with good technique.”
