‘We Know How To Suffer’ Says Marcelo

Brazil have undergone a transformation under the gaze of Tite, since he was appointed to the role of Head Coach of the Seleção in August 2016.

Brazil have only lost 1 of his 20 games in charge, conceding only 5 goals in the process. Tite has turned Brazil into one of the favourites for this summer’s World Cup.

Left-back Marcelo says that the team have learned one important quality under Tite- they know how to suffer during periods of pressure.

The Seleção were humiliated by Germany in the semi-final of the last competition in 2014, but Marcelo says it is not only that defeat that proved to be a learning curve.

“Not just from that defeat, but the players are learning. They play in great teams in Brazil, in Europe. Tite helped the Seleção a lot. He always says that we will have to suffer in periods of the game.”

Marcelo has been a mainstay of one of the tightest defences in international football during this period.
