Zé Roberto could be on his way back to Europe and his former club Bayern Munich as Owen Hargreaves joins Manchester United.
Roberto left the German club for Santos in 2006 but the “Sport Bild” is predicting his imminent return. The move wouldn’t mean Champions League football, as Bayern failed to qualify for next season’s competition, but it would get him a place in the UEFA Cup.
With Santos the offensive midfielder picked up a winners’ medal in the São Paulo state championship and will have his fortune in the Copa Libertadores decided this evening. Santos take on América in the second-leg of their quarter-final tie tonight having drawn 0-0 in Mexico.
Rumours linking Bayern to Adriano seem to have subsided, for the time being at least.
