Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson says the target of winning Premier League record goals and points totals this season are very important to the team.

City are one point and two goals short of record totals since the Premier League was created in 1992 and the Brazilian says this target is a big motivation for the squad.

They have the chance to break both records at home to Huddersfield on Sunday, where they will be presented with the Premier League trophy after the match.

“It would mean a lot (to beat them). If you finish the season as a champion and, on top of that, break some records – we would make history as a club and also us as football players.

“I hope we can break all the records. We are able to do it. I think if we manage to keep the same level we have had along the season, we’ll do it.”
