Roma president James Palotta can’t see any reason why goalkeeper Alisson would want to
leave the club. The Brazilian is being closely linked to Liverpool and Real Madrid after
impressing in Italy this season.
He has fought off competition from Ederson to keep hold of the Brazil number 1 jersey as
part of a Roma side that has advanced to the semi-finals of the Champions League. His
performances have drawn attention from Europe’s elite.
But Roma supremo Palotta cann’t see why the goalie would want to go, “Why would he want
to leave here? He has a contract and I love him. I didn’t want to sell him when people talked
about him leaving two years ago.
“I thought he was excellent then and he is showing how good he is now,” he told Football
Italia. Initially, Alisson was behind Wojciech Szczesny in the pecking order at Roma, until the
Pole joined Juventus in the summer.
