Brazil coach Tite was delighted with his team’s 3-0 friendly victory over Russia in Moscow on Friday, insisting that he and his team passed the examination with flying colours. The scores were level at the break before goals from Miranda, Coutinho and Paulinho gave the Seleção a 3-0 win.

Brazil were stymied by the home side’s defence in the first half, but overwhelmed the hosts after the break, with Tite explaining, “I’m very pleased with the performance. We achieved what we set out to achieve and I’m very pleased with how we took our chances. Brazil are ready for the World Cup.

“We we’re paying against 5 defenders again and we managed to get through that line and be aggressive – that will help us as is it like we faced against England. We’ve found a way to play against this European football.

“This was a very good opportunity to prepare for these types of tests tactically, to see how we can react against this type of opponent. When you see the ball flying over the midfield you need to sit back and assess how to find the weak spots in that opponent, to try and locate the places where you can penetrate and hurt the opponent

“In the first half we were trying different things out – when you go up against these 5 defenders it takes time and that is why we started a little slowly in the first-half. Any technically-gifted and smart
players should be able to move positions and they have the ability to do this.

“It’s something I was testing and it helps get them out of their comfort zone and it enabled us to create chances.”
