Philippe Coutinho says he is still adapting to life at Barcelona, having joined the club from Liverpool during the January transfer window. The Brazilian joined the La Liga club for a fee of £114m in January.

Speaking ahead of Brazil’s friendly with Russia in Moscow on Friday, Coutinho said, “I'm adapting to Spanish football, to my new club. I arrived a short time ago, I have in my head to learn, to evolve, learning the way they play and train, which really is a little different than what I was used to.”

The Seleção are now undergoing closed training sessions as Tite prepares his team for this summer’s World Cup. Coutinho says that the privacy is important to the squad at this advanced stage of preparation.

“All training here is important, for the short period we have in the National Team. In each session, we have to take the opportunity to listen, to assimilate what the coaches are saying. Today was another important training session.”
