Brazil goalkeeper Alisson says that he and the team “can taste” the World Cup this summer. Brazil are set to play a friendly against Russia in Moscow this afternoon, in the same stadium where July’s World Cup Final will take place.
The Roma keeper has been named captain for Friday’s friendly in Moscow and he says that being in the Russian capital has given the squad a strong sense of anticipation for the tournament this summer.
“Surely you can taste it. We are in Russia, experiencing the environment from where the Copa will be held, having the opportunity to grow as a team, against a tough opponent. It's a team with a slightly different formation from the ones we play in South American football
“It will be a great test for the World Cup, we will work hard because it is getting closer and closer.” Alisson has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Real Madrid having impressed in the Italian capital this season.
“My time is very good in Rome, I have worked very hard since I arrived. I arrived determined to be a starter, it took a bit longer than I expected, but I learned a lot. I entered at the right moment.
“Thanks to God, who gave me everything, and whom I trusted in a difficult period. I got a lot of confidence from the technical staff here, great advice. If I am in that beautiful moment, I owe them as well.”
