Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has revealed that Ronaldo has been a source of inspiration andadvice for him as he recovers from a knee injury. Jesus damaged his medial ligament back inDecember.
Ronaldo suffered multiple knee injuries during his career and Jesus has revealed that Ronaldo hasbeen on hand for him as he continues his recuperation, “Besides being a fan of him as a player, I hadthe pleasure of getting to know the person he is, which made me admire him even more.
“He's conquered everything but is still humble — and great company. I'm proud to be able to havehis help and advice,” he told UOL Esporte. Jesus says he is close to a full recovery and faces a race tobe fit for next week’s Carabao Cup Final against Arsenal.
“I'm getting better every day and recovering, but I must recover well — not too fast," Jesus said. "Theknee is very complicated, even more so as I've never had an injury there. I need to take good care ofmyself so that I can get back better than I was."
The player admitted that he feared he might miss the World Cup in the immediate aftermath of theinjury, “That moment was complicated because I had thoughts about the national team, about therest of the season — I thought of everything," he said.
"I'm hitting the ball a little bit now — I missed that a lot — but I'm still a little scared. In a week, I'llspend more days hitting the ball and, in a short time, I'll train with the team again.”
