Malcom Admits Premier League ‘Dream’ Amidst Spurs Interest

Tottenham target Malcom has admitted that playing in the Premier League would be a “dream”
amidst reports that the North London club are negotiating his purchase with Bordeaux.
The 20-year old was initially a target for Arsenal during the January transfer window, but the
Gunners’ interest has cooled given Bordeaux’s asking price.
The Brazilian played in Bordeaux’s 1-0 win over Nantes on Saturday, but was in coy mood about the
prospect of moving to the Premier League this month.
“I do not know if I will be staying or leaving. I leave that to my agents, to the club. If I leave that is
great, I thank the club for everything," he told reporters after his side's 1-0 win over Nantes.
"That is life. These are choices. There you go. Now we will see. If I have to stay, I will stay. If I am to
leave, then I will leave. So long as I am here, I will do my work.
“Is England a dream? Yes it is a dream, it is a dream for all players and I am no different. As I said, I
am here, I must think about working and nothing else. I must not think about leaving now.”

Wenger pessimistic on Malcom Deal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he does not think the Gunners will be able to complete a
deal for Bordeaux’s Brazilian attacker Malcom.
Arsenal have been negotiating with the French club for the signature of the 20 year old as a
replacement for Theo Walcott, who joined Everton earlier this week.
The Gunners boss did hint that the deal may be reignited in the summer, telling his Thursday
press conference, “No, I don’t think that will be done in January.”
With Arsenal set to get Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United in a swap deal for Alexis
Sanchez and Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre Aubameyang also set to join, Malcom is not
seen as a priority in this window.
Earlier in the week, Bordeaux president Stephane Martin said Arsenal could expect a hard
time negotiating a transfer for a player they are set on keeping until the end of the season.
Bordeaux are currently three points above the relegation zone and Malcom is their star
player. There is some suggestion that a deal could be done if Arsenal were prepared to loan
the 20 year old back to Bordeaux until the summer.
