Arsenal are reportedly close to securing the signature of Brazilian attacker Malcom fromBordeaux, as they prepare for life without Manchester United bound Alexis Sanchez.
Sanchez was left out of the Gunners’ 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday as he edgescloser to a move, with 20 year old Malcom his potential replacement.
Various British newspapers are reporting that Arsenal met with Malcom’s representatives inLondon on Friday and that personal terms are all but agreed.
The sticking point seems to be that Bordeaux would like Arsenal to loan the player back untilthe end of the season, which the Premier League side are reluctant to do.
The signing of Malcom, who is enjoying a breakout season in Ligue 1, is likely to set Arsenalback around €45m. The Gunners have recently appointed Sven Mislintat as their head ofrecruitment, Mislintat was keen on bringing Malcom to Dortmund in his previous post.
Malcom was part of Corinthians’ title winning side of 2015 under current Brazil coach Tite,before joining Bordeaux in January 2016.
