Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that Liverpool will be fine in the wake of the sale of PhilippeCoutinho to Barcelona. A week ago the Brazilian joined Barca in a deal worth around £142m.
The German coach insists the Reds will cope just fine without Coutinho, citing the many big playershe lost whilst coaching Borussia Dortmund.
“There was no other option,” he said when asked why the club let Coutinho go. “I knew it wouldcome up again in the transfer window and I knew it would be very difficult.
“Does it make sense? Did I think we can still use him? It was 100 percent clear, no chance. He wasn’tready to do it anymore. He did fantastic in the first-half of the season after what happened in thesummer.
“We don’t have to replace him as such, we will still have 11 players. I don’t want to sounddisrespectful, he was here for five years, we will miss him. But we want to play good football withoutPhil.
“We had fantastic games with him and not so good games with him, and the same when he didn’tplay.”
