Manchester City prospect Marlos Moreno looks set to join Brasileirão giants Flamengo on loan for
2018 according to Globoesporte.
City bought Moreno from Atlético Nacional at the same time that they purchased Gabriel Jesus from
Palmeiras. However, Colombian Moreno was instantly loaned out to Deportivo La Coruna and then
to Girona, who have a partnership with the City group.
But Globoesporte is reporting that Moreno’s agent is in Rio de Janeiro to finalise a loan deal for the
youngster to play for Flamengo in the 2018 season.
City director Xavi Marces was tight lipped on the reports, telling the Brazilian news outlet “I cannot
talk about it,” when contacted.
Moreno worked with current Fla boss Reinaldo Rueda at Atletico Nacional, however, Rueda is set to
join Chile as their national team manager.
Moreno was one of South America’s breakout stars in 2016, helping Atletico Nacional to win the
Copa Libertadores, but his development appears to have stalled on loan in Europe. He has yet to
play for City.
