Philippe Coutinho has described his move to Barcelona as the realisation of a dream. The Brazilian
joined the club from Liverpool for a total of £142m on Friday, after Barca and Coutinho tried and
failed to make the move happen during the summer.
Coutinho told Barcelona’s official website, “I am very happy. I have always said I am living a dream,
we are very happy to be here. To be able to play football, win titles, make the fans happy and play
with a smile. These are the objectives.”
Coutinho is already familiar with several Barca players, having played with Luis Suarez at Liverpool.
Coutinho will also be joining up with Seleção teammate Paulinho at the Nou Camp. Coutinho is also
relishing playing with some Barca legends.
“It is incredible to know I will be around idols, with players who have such a great history like Leo,
Luis, Iniesta, Piqué, Busquets… all the great players. I am very happy to know I will be playing with
them and I hope to be able to learn, live and win together.”
Coutinho will be officially presented as a Barcelona player on Monday lunchtime.
