Brazil defender Marquinhos is relishing the prospect of representing his country in France, where he has played for Paris Saint Germain since 2013. The Seleção have been training in PSG’s Parc des Princes home this week, ahead of their game against Japan in Lille.

Clubmates Neymar, Thiago Silva and Dani Alves feature alongside him, but the 23=year old defender is feeling very at home ahead of Friday’s clash with Japan, “It’s quite something to bring your international teammates home.

“I’m really moved to have them here even if there are quite a few Brazilians in Paris. Coming back here with the other players is really something, I feel very emotional training with Brazil here at the Parc des Princes.”

Marquinhos’ international teammate Neymar joined PSG in the summer and Marquinhos says he has settled very well in Paris, “It’s important is to have character and Neymar has a good head on his shoulders, is very important for Brazil and we are all trying to help with his adaptation in Paris.

“For everything Neymar has been doing on the pitch, whoever thinks he’s not performing must be watching another game. He’s a different player, a star, someone who instantly becomes a target for other players, for the press and fans.”
