Watford boss Marco Silva says that Huerelho Gomes should be back training with the team in the next few days, after a nasty gash to the head forced him to go off during Watford’s 3-2 defeat to Everton on Sunday.

The Hornets were leading when Gomes suffered a bad cut to his head, requiring around 8 minutes of treatment. Watford went onto lose a game they had controlled, taking a 2-0 lead at one point, with Brazilian Richarlison on the score sheet.

Silva told the press, “After the injury we lost our focus and everything changed. It was a bad cut on his head, but I think in the next few days he will be better and back with us.”

Gomes suggested as much on his Instagram account, posting, “Hi all just wanted to thank u, for the kind messages that I have been receiving, I will be ok. Of course disappointed with the result, we will bounce back. We have to.  Thank u for your amazing support. Great as always.”
