Paris Saint Germain right-back Dani Alves believes the Barcelona team he played in under Pep Guardiola is rightly recognised as one of the greatest of all time.

Barca won the treble during the 2008-09 season, including a comprehensive 2-0 win over Manchester United in the Champions League Final in Rome.

The season is recognised as the high water mark of Guardiola’s Barcelona team, who also went onto beat United in the Champions League Final at Wembley two years later.

The Brazilian told FourFourTwo, “Talking to several football experts, they haven’t seen another team as incredible as that Barcelona.

“These are people who’ve been following the game for a long time and they say they’ve never seen such a thing. We represented the definition of a collective game.

“We ate, drank and breathed football, so moments like winning the Champions League were rewards for all our efforts.”
