Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has revealed that he chose to join Manchester City last year due to the presence of Pep Guardiola at the club.
The Brazilian attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester United, but he opted for City to play under Guardiola.
“Guardiola called me up and said I would be a very important part of his project,” he told FourFourTwo. “This obviously made me feel wanted and was a big factor in helping me pick City as my next club.
“There had been a lot of clubs interested in signing me at the time, but the one I felt most confident in was City.”
Jesus has scored 15 goals and has 6 assists in just 25 games for City and the player is now unbeaten for City, Palmeiras and Brazil in 12 months of competition.
