Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho has been definitively ruled out of Saturday’s trip to West Ham with an adductor injury.

The Brazilian missed recent games against Huddersfield and NK Maribor at Anfield with the problem that he picked up in training at the end of last week.

Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp suggested that the Brazilian would face a fitness test prior to the trip to East London, but Klopp confirmed on Friday that Coutinho wouldn’t make it.

It remains to be seen whether he will be able to represent the Seleção in their friendlies against Japan in Lille and England at Wembley next week.

"Phil is not available," Klopp confirmed. "With the rest it will be close. Gini [Wijnaldum], not sure, it’s painful."
