Juventus left-back Alex Sandro has denied that he has moved ahead of Filipe Luis in the pecking order for Tite’s Brazil squad. Luis is injured, so Alex Sandro will again take his place for November friendlies against Japan and England.

This has led to reports that the Juve man will overtake Luis as the second choice left-back in Tite’s squad for next summer’s World Cup. But Sandro has insisted such talk is premature.

"I cannot see myself in front of anyone, you [the press] invented it now [laughs]. The competition is healthy, not just between the left-backs, but in all positions. Tite leaves this open and widens the options. The alternating calls are good for the group."

Sandro is looking to impress in the November fixtures, "When you are called, you have to think about responding the best that you can. I, when called, try to do a great job so that I am able to be called again."
