Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed reports from Friday that Philippe Coutinho has picked up an abductor injury. The Brazilian missed the first three games of the season with a back problem.
Reports circulated on Friday morning that Coutinho could miss the next three games, but Reds boss Klopp says the extent of the injury will be assessed in the next 24 hours. He will almost certainly miss today’s game with Huddersfield Town.
Klopp told Liverpool.com, "It’s not clear in the moment. Last week he had some back problems before the Tottenham game, but then during the week it settled with treatment and all that stuff, so he was fit for the game.
"This week he had a little bit of problem with the adductor. It’s not clear so far if he is out for the Huddersfield game. We will make the decision after training.
"He didn’t train on Thursday, that’s true, but that’s all for the moment. There are no other new things [injury problems]."
