Manchester United winger Andreas Pereira says he is focused on playing for Valencia this season and says it would be difficult for him to return to United if he were called before the end of the campaign.

The Brazilian is spending the season on loan with La Liga side Valencia and says he is committed to playing well for his temporary club. Pereira drew criticism from manager Jose Mourinho for his decision to go on loan again.

Pereira told AS, “When I signed, I knew that this clause existed but now I am calm, focused on Valencia. Nobody called me from Manchester.

“I’m calm, if they want them to go back they’ll call. I want to stay here for the whole season because I’m fit, I feel good… If I had to go back it would be difficult again.”

Pereira said opportunities were easier for him to come by at Valencia with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Ashley Young ahead of him at United, “I think that here I have more opportunities to play and to improve my football even more.

“I love the style of Spain and I also spoke with Marcelino before coming here. He explained how he played and his style. He asked me how I had been in Spain and he said that he liked the year I had made in Granada. I loved the project and here I am.”
