Manchester City goalkeepers Ederson and Claudio Bravo will come face to face tonight, as they represent their countries in São Paulo. Ederson has received the nod ahead of Alisson for the World Cup qualifier.
Bravo meanwhile, will captain Chile. Bravo will also be facing his clubmate Gabriel Jesus, as he seeks to help Chile secure a spot at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Brazil, of course, have already qualified.
"I talked a little with Bravo and I said that I would score a goal if I had the opportunity," Jesus told a press conference on Sunday evening.
On City and Brazil teammate Ederson, Jesus said, "He"s a very good guy, a good colleague, who deserves everything. I"m very much a fan of him. I"m very fond of him."
Jesus will also face Palmeiras legend Jorge Valdivia, with both players returning to Allianz Parque for the CONMEBOL qualifier. Both players can expect an excellent reception from the local crowd.
"I trained with him at Palmeiras, and we played together once, if I"m not mistaken. In the time we spent together, he proved to be a good person, a quiet guy, and a great player."
But Jesus warned that friendships will be cast to one side when the teams face one another later tonight, "They defend their team. I, mine.
"We have to worry only about ourselves. We deserved our qualification. Let them [Chile] solve whatever they have to solve. Here, when it comes to Brazil, we are always trying to win."
