Gabriel Jesus Reveals Guardiola Chat After Shakhtar Omission
Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has revealed that City boss Pep Guardiola explained his decision to leave the Brazilian striker on the bench for the team’s 2-0 Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk.
Jesus came on in the second half and scored City’s second goal. But the 19 year old says that there is no ill-feeling, after the manager explained his decision to leave Jesus out for Sergio Aguero for the game.
“He spoke to me in Spanish. I understand enough. He spoke to me and gave me an explanation of why he took me out. He always talks and I accept his decisions. Of course no one likes to be replaced because who says they don’t want to play?!
"The game was good, our team was able to withstand Shakhtar’s pressure. We knew that Shakhtar are good, with many Brazilians who are considered stars. We managed to control the game and, at a certain point, we knew how to suffer in the match.”
