Emery Insists Neymar and Cavani Penalty Dispute is Resolved
Paris Saint Germain boss Unai Emery insists that he has spoken with Neymar and Edinson Cavani over who will take penalties for the team and the matter is now closed.
The pair appeared to argue over a spot kick during last weekend’s 2-0 win over Lyon, with speculaion in the press that the two had fallen out. Emery denies that is the case and insists the issue is closed.
“I already talked to the players. They know how things will work on the pitch and on penalties. There are many players prepared to take them and many want to take,” he explained.
“Then we see with statistics and responsibilities who is most prepared to take. And the two are prepared for it, Cavani and Neymar. I want both of them to have that responsibility. We'll have a lot of penalties for the two to take and convert, which is the most important thing.”
