Paris Saint Germain manager Unai Emery insists there has been no fallout between Edinson Cavani and Neymar, after the pair appeared to argue over a penalty and a free-kick during PSG’s 2-0 win over Lyon last weekend.

Rumours have abounded of a fractious relationship between the two, which the PSG coach insists is not the case. Dani Alves is reported to have taken the pair for dinner during the week in order to heal any wounds.

“They are very competitive players with individual goals. We have a good relationship in the group. After the game, normal discussions can happen, but that does not change the good harmony and the good environment,” Emery explained.

“In the end, we seek the common goal, which is victory. There was a discussion, which is normal in the heat of the moment. Cavani and Neymar are the players who train more on penalties and they share this role in the team.”
