Watford’s new Brazilian striker Richarlison thinks that Marco Silva is one of the finest young coaches in the game. Silva took over at Watford in the summer after a short spell at Hull City where he nearly rescued the doomed looking club from relegation.

Richarlison joined the Hornets from Fluminense in August and he insists that Silva was a big part of the reason the 20-year old joined the club. “Marco Silva is among the best coaches in the world,” he told O Jogo.

“We have a very good relationship. When the players do not understand the tactics, for example, he takes us aside one by one and explains what he wants. He prioritises tactics.“

When asked if Silva could become heir apparent to fellow Portuguese Jose Mourinho, Richarlison replied, “Sure enough, he has the capacity for it. His professionalism delighted me. We can expect that Marco will be among the best coaches in the world very soon.

“Some days ago he took me to his office and told me everything that I needed to hear. This helped me very, very much. When I go on the pitch I remember his words in that conversation.”
