Brazilian defenders Jemerson and Alex Sandro have been called up to the Seleção squad for Tuesday night’s World Cup qualifier against Colombia in Barranquilla.

The pair sat out Brazil’s 2-0 win over Ecuador in Porto Alegre on Thursday, but left-back and captain for the night Marcelo picked up a yellow card, meaning he is now suspended for Tuesday’s match against Colombia.

Meanwhile, centre half João Miranda left the field with concussion on Thursday and will fly back to his club Inter Milan for extra assessment. Monaco centre back Jemerson is called in his place.

Marcelo’s place in the starting line-up will be taken by Filipe Luis and Miranda will likely be replaced by Thiago Silva, with Jemerson and Juve full-back Alex Sandro drafted in to provide cover.

Brazil’s win on Thursday means they have guaranteed first place in the CONMEBOL group with three games to spare.
