‘Gossip’ Renato Augusto Just Wants Coutinho to be Happy
Brazil midfielder Renato Augusto says that he has spoken to Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho about his future at the club, but insists that the player’s happiness is the most important thing.
The pair will face off against Ecuador on Thursday evening in Porto Alegre, before playing Colombia in Barranquilla on Tuesday. Coutinho could yet move to Barcelona from Liverpool, though the player has joined up with the Seleção in Southern Brazil.
“I did not have time to exchange ideas with Philippe. At times, I have asked a few questions, I'm a gossip! I'd only tell him to be happy, in the club where he is or somewhere else, that is the most important thing.”
Renato’s midfield partner Paulinho is a player who has already made the move to Barca this summer and Augusto has no doubts about the move, “When he came to the national team, Paulinho took a lot of punishment, but he is at a high level, I have no doubt that it will work.”
