‘Barcelona Better Without Temperamental Neymar’ Says del Bosque
Ex Spain coach Vincente del Bosque thinks that Barcelona will not suffer for losing Brazilian attacker Neymar. The player joined Paris Saint Germain in a £198m world record transfer last week, with the Catalan club powerless to stop him leaving due to his release clause.
However, del Bosque, who coached Spain to two European Championships and a World Cup triumph using the fulcrum of the Barca team, thinks they are better off without Neymar due to the player’s temperament.
“Neymar is a great player and a loss to La Liga. Sometimes he was a temperamental player. Barcelona are a better team without Neymar,” he told AS Sport. “They have removed a player who could sometimes be inconsistent.”
Barcelona have made Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele their principal targets to fill the gap left by Neymar Junior.
