Liverpool and Arsenal Linked With Luan
The Brazilian media is reporting that Liverpool and Arsenal will do battle for Grêmio’s highly rated attacker Luan. The forward was called into the Brazil squad for September qualifiers against Ecuador and Colombia on Thursday.
Luan had looked set for a move to Russian side Spartak Moscow, but Globo Sport were reporting that scouts from Liverpool and Arsenal were watching the forward in last night’s Copa Libertadores match between Grêmio and Godoy Cruz.
Liverpool could look to Luan as a replacement for Phillipe Coutinho if he chooses to move to Barcelona, while the Gunners still have doubts over the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil. It’s reported that Luan would prefer to move to England as opposed to Russia.
Speaking after the game, Luan said that he will consider Spartak’s offer over the coming days, “My thoughts are still with Grêmio. I saw people on social networks asking me to stay.
“I know the proposal (from Spartak), but that we have to decide. Tomorrow (Thursday), I’ll speak more calmly and give you the answer.”
