Gomes ‘My Job Is Not Done at Watford’
Watford goalkeeper Huerelho Gomes insists that he still has unfinished business at Watford ahead of the 2017-18 season. The Brazilian signed a new two year deal with the Hertfordshire club this summer.
The 36-year old joined The Hornets back in 2014 from Tottenham Hotspur and has won two Player of the Year awards during his time with the club, having helped them to promotion from the Championship in 2014-15.
“To be honest, it wasn’t too difficult to make the decision,” the 36-year-old said, speaking to watfordfc.com.
“I know my limit and where I can go - on the other hand, I know that my job is not finished, and that’s why I’m keen to stay here for a little bit longer.
“I want to continue to help the club and I’ll do that with a big smile on my face.” Gomes hopes to be joined by compatriot Richarlison this week, the 21 year old Fluminense striker is waiting on a work permit before completing his move to Watford.
