Neymar ‘I Came To PSG To Make History’
Neymar Junior has insisted that the chance to make history with Paris Saint Germain was his biggest driver in joining the club from Barcelona. The forward joined PSG for a world record £198m fee on Friday and stands to make £500,000 a week with the Lihue 1 outfit.
But Neymar says money is not the motivating factor, “I came to PSG to make history. What attracted me is the group, the new challenge, the city, not just one player.”
PSG have yet to win the Champions League and the player says the chance to achieve this has been a motivating factor in the move, “We want to win the Champions League, but we also want to win every single cup.
“Paris does not need Neymar to be the most beautiful city. I came [to PSG] to find my happiness. "I would like to write my history in this club, like other great Brazilians have done. Many people criticized Ligue 1, but I asked everyone who played here and they said the level was difficult and high.
“PSG has everything to become the biggest club in the world, and I am here for this,” he concluded in his unveiling press conference.
