Liverpool are currently mulling over a £5m bid from Serie A club Lazio for midfielder Lucas Leiva. The
Brazilian has 12 months to run on his current deal and nearly left the club for Turkey last summer
and was linked with a loan move to Inter Milan in January.
The 30 year old has been at Anfield since signing from Grêmio in 2007, but looks set for a Liverpool
exit after becoming something of a utility player under manager Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool fly to Hong
Kong for pre-season on Sunday and the player will likely make a decision before then.
The offer is thought to be in the region of £5m. Lucas took part on Wednesday night’s pre-season
friendly at Tranmere, but may not be involved as the Reds face Wigan at the JJB Arena tonight.
