Coutinho Will Not Play Tranmere Friendly
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that Phillipe Coutinho will not figure in the team’s pre-season friendly away at Tranmere Rovers on Wednesday evening.
The player only returned to pre-season training on Tuesday, after representing his country in friendlies against Argentina and Australia in Melbourne in June.
However, the Brazilian is likely to be part of the travelling party that will go to Asia ahead of the new season. Liverpool will also play a two legged Champions League qualifying round in August.
“Phil looks good, so it’s always good – an outstanding player and having him not around feels a little bit strange, but having him around feels much better!
“Pretty much all of the players will play at Tranmere. Of course, not Adam (Lallana) and Phil – they only arrived on Tuesday and they have to train now, then we will see how far they are before the game at Wigan. It is not even sure we will try this, so then for sure in Asia they will be a part of the line-up.”
