Liverpool have had no enquiries from Paris Saint Germain or Barcelona for playmaker Philippe Coutinho, nor would they welcome any according to Goal.com’s Liverpool correspondent Melissa Reddy.

Reports circulated over the weekend that Paris Saint Germain were confident of coaxing The Reds into a sale, with Marcoa Verratta set to join Barcelona. However, goal.com suggest that confidence is misplaced.

Coutinho signed a new 5 and a half year deal with the Merseyside club in January, which contained no exit clauses. The player is set to report back for pre-season training on Tuesday, having played for Brazil in friendlies against Argentina and Australia in early June.

Barcelona have put their interest on hold and instead look set to sign Coutinho’s compatriot Paulinho from Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.
