Ghangzou Evergrande midfielder Paulinho admits that he is thinking over a move from China to Spanish giants Barcelona. The ex-Corinthians and Tottenham man moved to China in January 2016 and is subject to interest from the Catalonians.

Under Tite, Paulinho has revitalised his international career, scoring against Argentina in November in Belo Horizonte, before plundering a hat trick against Uruguay in Montevideo back in March. His international form has alerted Europe’s heavyweights again.

But Paulinho admits he has much to consider, “There was contact with my agent, yes. There was an offer, yes, and this is all in discussion. But today I find myself at a very happy moment in my life and in my career. When are in a moment like this it is difficult for you to decide.

“There are many things I need to balance to make my decision, and one of the decisions is my happiness. I think, first of all, the moment that I am in, the life that my wife and I took here in China. We like the place, the people, the moment that I am living in the club.

“We are disputing Chinese title, Asian Champions League, Chinese Cup, so I really don’t know. I am very happy to be discussing a situation with a great club like Barcelona, I think this is priceless. I have been talking to my agent daily.

“There is no deadline for me to say yes or no, because there has to be a conversation between Barcelona and Guangzhou, but the main answer is mine.

I intend and always try to talk to Giuliano (Bertolucci) who is my agent: if I have to decide, that is as soon as possible for both parties. If I stay, Barcelona have other options. And if I go, Guangzhou has to have another option to buy.”
