Italian publication Repubblica is reporting that Chelsea have agreed a £60m deal with Italian giants Juventus for Brazilian left-back Alex Sandro. The Premier League champions are believed to have had two previous bids rejected by ‘The Old Lady.’

The Blues are looking to bolster their squad with European football on the horizon this season and believe that the Brazilian can play as a wing-back in their 3-4-3 system. Sandro would compete for a place with Marcos Alonso.

Sandro joined Juve from Porto in 2015 and has been an integral part of their squad ever since. It is believed that Juventus have already identified Monaco’s Bernard Mendy as a potential replacement.

Sandro was part of the Brazil squad that played friendlies against Argentina and Australia in Melbourne last week. Chelsea are keen to get the deal over the line to placate boss Antonio Conte, who has reportedly become frustrated with the club’s transfer inactivity to date.
