Valdivía Seals Atlético Mineiro Loan Move
Internacional attacker Valdivía is has completed a loan move to Atlético Mineiro. The 22 year old is in Belo Horizonte and the club have announced he joins on a loan deal that would see him spend the 2017 season with the club.
Valdivía was considered one of Brazil’s hottest young properties and was set to play a significant part in last summer’s Olympic squad for the Seleção. However, he picked up a cruciate ligament injury at the beginning of last year which saw him miss out.
Valdivía’s absence is cited as a big reason for Inter’s shock relegation from the Brasileirão Serie A last year. Initially, he had said he will stay with his boyhood club, but now a move to Galo looks to be on the cards.
There had been speculation of a player moving in the other direction to facilitate the deal, with Atlético defender Frickson Erazo and playmaker Maicosuel mooted. But Fox reporter Diego Bertozzi says that there will be no movement in the other direction. Inter already have Galo striker Carlos on loan.
