Juventus legend Liam Brady hailed right-back Dani Alves as the “most influential” player at the club, after the Italian side qualified for the Champions League Final. Juve defeated AS Monaco 4-1 on aggregate, with Alves assisting two and scoring once over the two legs.

Alves is bidding for his 4th Champions League trophy, but his first with The Old Lady, having won three European Cups at Barcelona. Brady said, “I think maybe he got a little bit addicted to Barcelona. He needed a change.

“He really has become a hero for Juventus fans after the two semi-final matches, he has probably been the most influential player on the team.”

Brady, who also played for Arsenal and West Ham, insists that a Juventus v Real Madrid final is the result the neutrals will have wanted from the semi-finals, “I think Juve has the tools to win this trophy now.

“They have a very strong defense, a brilliant goalkeeper, a very tough midfield, they have Dybala up front who can create that bit of magic and Higuain who can take a chance. It’s the final we all wanted, two great teams with European pedigree, it’s great for Juventus.”
