Brazil Technical Director and former Arsenal midfielder Edu Gaspar says that the Seleção face possibly their toughest game in qualifying, as they take on Uruguay in Montevideo on Thursday evening.

Brazil top the CONMEBOL qualifiers at the moment, with Uruguay in 2nd place. A draw will probably be a good result for Brazil, but Edu knows that they will have to be prepared for an incredibly tough contest.

“We have a very important game, maybe the most difficult game we have to face. The Uruguayan players are in a great technical moment, playing in Montevideo is very difficult as well. We have this idea to make a good game, to win points and achieve qualification as soon as possible.”

Uruguay will be without Luis Suarez, which Edu concedes is a plus for the visitors, “We cannot deny the importance of the player, obviously Suárez is having a great time in Barcelona. He has had a good time for a long time!

“Uruguay has a strong side. They are very organized, they play very well at home, they have great substitutes, we already know, we have studied them a lot and the difficulty will be great.”
