The father of Brazilian right-back Fabinho has claimed that Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Barcelona are all interested in signing his son. Fabinho, currently impressing at right-back for Monaco, has been linked with United recently.

There were suggestions that Manchester United were very keen on taking Fabinho to Old Trafford last summer, but the Brazilian eventually decided to stay with the Ligue 1 club for another season. But Fabinho’s father João insists that the interest has grown much wider now.

Speaking to French TV show J+1, he said, “We have been in talks with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal & approached by Barcelona. We like Manchester United & Mourinho’s work, but we have a soft spot for Manchester City.”

City could certainly use a right back with current options Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna into their 30s, while United have never truly replaced Gary Neville, with Rafael da Silva not progressing as expected and Matteo Darmian used at left-back.

Likewise, Barcelona have been trying to replace Dani Alves, who left for Juventus last summer. Arsenal have Hector Bellerin, who recently signed a new long term contract, but his deputies Mathieu Debuchy and Carl Jenkinson both look set to leave this summer.
