Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admits he is not sure whether Gabriel Jesus will be able to play again this season. The 19 year old broke his foot in Monday night’s win over Bournemouth and will miss at least 2-3 months.

The Brazilian had enjoyed an electric start to life in England with three goals in three games, but had to be removed during the first half at the Vitality Stadium on Monday due to a heavy whack on his foot, which turned out to be broken.

Jesus underwent surgery in Barcelona and Guardiola issued an update during his Friday press conference, "Last night, he made an operation and it was good," Guardiola said. “Now it’s important he recovers well and he’s going back when he will be fit, at the end of the season or next season.

"Now we send all our support to him and his family and we are waiting until he is back. People say [he will be out] between two and three months. Everybody [else] is almost okay. Except the long injuries, the others are okay. Little problems some of them but no big issues."

As a result, Jesus could miss the remainder of the Premier League season and will certainly miss World Cup qualifiers for Brazil against Uruguay and Paraguay in March.
