Chelsea winger Willian admits that the relationship between Antonio Conte and Diego Costa can be difficult, but is working just fine. Costa and Conte are both renowned as fiery characters and the striker fell afoul of his manager last month when he tried to force through a move to China.

The relationship appears to have been restored, with Costa playing again and Willian told Globo Esporte that, though the pair can be at loggerheads occasionally, there is nothing amiss in their relationship.

“The temperament of the two is a bit difficult, but they are very good people. For those who don’t know, Diego Costa seems like a tough guy, who wants to fight, but that’s on the pitch. He always tells us, ‘I’m like that on the pitch, I cannot change. If I were to play against my mother, that would be the way I would be!’”

“So, he’s a guy who wants to win, he wants to fight, he fights for all the balls, he wants to score, and that’s cool. Off the pitch he is a guy who is always joking and talks to us. There is no problem between the two.”
