Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus is enjoying a fine start to life at Manchester City with three goals in his first three games. But he admits that he still holds a good deal of affection for his first club Palmeiras.
Jesus, who left the São Paulo club in December, told ESPN Brazil, “I saw the structure improve at Palmeiras, but one difference is that Palmeiras does not have room to make a structure equal to City. The structure is impressive, it’s very big, it’s all for the benefit for us players,” adding, “I was very happy there and I hope to return in the future.”
In the interview, he also touched on how City’s Brazilians Fernandinho and Fernando have helped him to settle in Manchester, “One of those who welcomed me the most were the Brazilians, Fernandinho I already knew and Fernando.
“These are the two people who have been helping, their families are helping my child in the adaptation. Their wives always speak with my partner, passing on the addresses of places to buy Brazilian things.”
Jesus is also very enthusiastic about working with Guardiola, “Guardiola is a guy that I still understand, he’s obsessed by soccer, I have not won all the things that he has won and I want to learn.”
