New Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus says that his new boss Pep Guardiola is as football mad as he is. It’s well renowned that the 19 year old opted for City ahead of the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich so that he could work with the Spanish coach.

Jesus joined from Palmeiras this month and made his debut in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, replacing Raheem Sterling in the final 15 minutes. Jesus was enthusiastic about his new gaffer in an interview with City’s official website.

“One thing I’ve noticed is that like me, he’s mad about football, he lives football 24 hours a day and I’m like that too. When I’m not playing, I’m watching, or playing a video game, doing something linked to football.

“I think this is very important that I’m the same as him, and I hope to learn. As I said, I’ve come here to learn, I’m going to give my all to learn more and more from him and my team-mates.” Jesus won the Brasileirão title with Palmeiras and an Olympic gold with Brazil in 2016.
