Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that Philippe Coutinho is likely to be involved in Liverpool’s EFL Cup semi-final against Southampton on Tuesday evening. The Brazilian suffered an ankle ligament injury on November 28th and has not played since.
However, he appears to be on the road to recovery and Klopp told his Monday press conference that Coutinho will be on the bench at the very least at St. Mary’s. “Phil trained this morning,” he confirmed.
“I think he will train again and that should be enough to be in the squad.” The news comes as a boost to the Reds who are aiming for their second successive League Cup Final, having lost last year’s final to Manchester City.
