Brazil will play Colombia in an international friendly in Rio on January 25th to raise money for the families of the victims of the Chapocoense plane crash. An aircraft carrying the team to their Copa Sudamericana final in Colombia crashed a few weeks ago, killing most of the passengers.

As a result, the CBF has arranged a fund raising match with Colombia, with all of the proceeds going to the families of the victims. The match will be played in the Engenhão in Rio de Janeiro. It is unclear how strong the Brazil and Colombia squads will be.

Many European leagues will be in their winter breaks, whilst the Colombian and Brazilian based players will be in pre-season. But it remains to be seen whether stars such as Neymar Junior and James Rodriguez will be released for the exhibition match.
