After failing to reach a deal with Inter Milan midfielder Felipe Melo, who did not accept the salary proposal made by president Leco, São Paulo already have a new target for the position.
It is Jucilei, who was successful with Corinthians from 2009 to 2011. According to the information from Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, there was a contact between São Paulo and representatives of the player from China’s Shandong Luneng. The initial talks caused an expectation within the board of São Paulo. Jucilei made clear his dream of wearing the Brazilian national team shirt and understands that the chances with Tite can become real if he returns to play in the country. The contract with the Chinese team only ends on June 30, 2019. The biggest difficulty at the moment is to convince the Chinese side to release him on loan, because São Paulo does not have the money to buy him permanently. It’s also worth noting that Jucilei has acquired Palestinian citizenship and avoids a foreign quota in China. This is not the first attempt made by São Paulo for the Brazilian midfielder – two years ago, the club tried to sign him from Al Jazeera. However, the 28-year-old had just made the switch from Russian team Anzhi, to the United Arab Emirates, where he earned very high wages. In all his clubs, Jucilei’s contracts were more advantageous than that of many famous Brazilians, who work in major teams of Europe. After Anzhi and Al Jazeera, he moved to Shandong in July of last year.
