At the start of the 2016/17 season, Brazilian striker Gabigol came to Inter Milan from Santos, for a transfer fee of €29 million.
Since arriving at Inter Milan, Gabigol has only played 16 minutes for the team, in a league match against Bologna. Gabigol is unhappy with his situation at the club, as explained by his agent Wagner Ribeiro. He was expected to receive more chances with the arrival of Stefano Pioli, but he"s yet to play a single minute of football under the new coach. In an interview with Radio Globo, Gabigol"s agent also commented on the interest of Brazilian clubs, revealing that he was “wanted by a Rio and Minas Gerais club" for a loan transfer. He said: “I"ve been with Santos" president, I talk to him constantly. Everyone knows that the salary that Gabriel receives at Inter is unfeasible here, no club has the conditions. I was approached by a Rio club and a Minas club for the loan of Gabigol, but I cannot guarantee anything. What I want is for my client not to be humiliated any longer. He was Santos" starter, was called up [to the Brazilian national team], left here as an Olympic champion, sold for extraordinary value… Let"s resolve the situation in January. He has a five-year contract, which does not say he should be a starter, but a player with the baggage that he has goes there and not get evaluated… He is really unhappy."
The businessman confesses not to understand the reasons for the lack of chances to Gabigol. He added: “Not even Inter can answer me. He arrived from Brazil, they said that he did not arrive well physically. But now it"s the best time physically. The truth is that they did not give him a chance."
